Everything you publish acts as an ambassador for your organisation

Welcome to Fiona Eadie’s editing and training business. I specialise in academic editing on a broad range of subjects for a variety of publishers.

I work with clients to ensure that everything you write and publish is as clear and effective as possible. I give you the reassurance of knowing that your material not only says what you want it to say but is also correct and consistent.
My training courses give participants confidence in proofreading and copy editing as well as enabling individuals and organisations to communicate clearly and with confidence on paper, electronically, and via websites.
I offer:
  • Editorial services – I can take on work at any stage of the publication process from development editing to researching and compiling written material, re-writing existing text, editing non-native English, proofreading and copy editing. I am also happy to manage the entire project.
  • Tailored training courses – I work with staff at all levels – who either edit material themselves or need to use precise written communication in their daily work – to improve skills, efficiency and effectiveness.
I am an advanced member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders with more than 25 years’ experience of working for academic journals, book publishers, charities and public sector bodies. Recent clients include:
  • Cambridge University Press – editing the Journal of Social Policy and administrating the peer review process via ScholarOne
  • UCL Press – Editing monographs in the fields of Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Education, Health/Medical Science, Sustainability and Environment – ongoing
  • Oxford University Press – development editing of secondary maths series – 2017/2018
  • Cambridge University Press – development editing of GCSE Maths and Geography titles 2015/2016
  • The King’s Fund – proofreading medical and health reports 2016
